The Final Squares

From Uncle Mike and Aunt Marcia. I especially love the yellow one with butterflies!
Beautiful silk fabric from Joan. I really love the little dolls and flowers on this!
Grandma is always good for finding cute fabric! I love it! Can't wait to get the wish!

Well you know what they say about thinking you have everything you are going to get....You always get more! In my last post in May I told you I was waiting for one square from my aunt and uncle. Well I got three from them and also another square from my mother. I also got a square from Joan who is like an aunt to me. With all of this in mind I rearranged a few things and have finally got the quilt squares the way I want them for the big quilt. My neighbor is figuring out the measurements and will email me what I need so we can get the top started. I am hoping to buy the material this weekend so we can get moving.

All the squares laid out in the order they will be in the quilt

Just for fun! Pumpkin Pie decided she would check out the quilt and she approves!

I still have to put together everything for the smaller quilt but all in good time. Until then here are the pictures of our final squares and also how the squares look set out. Keep in mind the carpet is beige so some of the squares seem to disapear in the picture. It will look so much better once we have the shashing done.....

So Many Squares

Because of all the swaps I had joined we have way over 100 wishes/squares. We are still awaiting the final square/wish for the main quilt from my aunt and uncle. We have decided on doing two quilts for Diana. We will do the bigger 100 Good Wish Quilt with squares primarily from family and friends and friends we have made on line.

A smaller cuddle quilt will be made with the rest of the squares/wishes and extra fabric that I have gotten from people and other fabric that I have used to swap with. Also I have gone a bought some new fabric as well. I believe this one will have a total of 45 squares all 6x6 in size. I will post a picture of all the squares once I receive the rest of the extra fabric. I haven't decided if it will have the same shashing and backing yet. Another trip to the fabric store will need to be done before I make my final decision.

I think for the bigger quilt we are going to buy a lavender marble fabric for the shashing and then a pastel yellow with small pastel polka-dots will be the backing. I will post pictures of both of them once I actually buy the fabric. I am hoping to get them both started the end of June when both my neighbor and I are back from vacation.

Enjoy the pictures of the squares laid out minus the one....

A New Square

Friday I received a sqwish from my friend Faith in North Carolina. Faith and I met on my Ladybug group but she joined after we were done with our swap. I really have had fun getting to know her and wanted to swap with her so here is the beautiful fabric and wish she sent. Thank you sooo much Faith!

Way behind!

This is from our good friends the McMullen's! She knows my love for butterflies and that Diana's room will be a butterfly theme. Thank you sooo much it means a lot to us!

These two are from Dave and I. I just couldn't resist the fabrics!
The wishes are coming soon (I hope). The fabrics are from Uncle Bob, Auntie Kathi, Richard, Jon and Drew. Thank you so much for at least getting us the fabric so we can get started! Love you!!

This is from the Williams family in Lexington South Carolina. They are from my CCAI Oct LID group. I really love the colorful fabric! Thank you.
This is from Parker and MJ. They thought they should be included in the quilt as well!
This is a very special square as its in memory of Dave's mother. We know she would have loved to have finally had a granddaughter. We searched high and low but we finally found the perfect fabric to represent her. We know she would have approved!
This is another one from Dave and I. I just love the butterflies in this fabric. Its also has sparkles to make it a little unique.

Yet again I am behind in posting on this site. I have gotten a few more squares/wishes and have also added more from Dave and I. Also Parker and MJ(our dogs) were feeling left out so I helped them create one too. We now have over 100 squares and I believe there are still more to come. We have decided with the extra squares we will create either a smaller cuddle quilt or a pillow. We hope to start working on the quilt the beginning of May when I will for sure have the rest of the squares I know for sure are coming. If you would still like to contribute please contact me ASAP. We would love to have them.

This international flag/kid fabric comes from the Riley family in Louisville Kentucky! Thanks!
My GREAT friend Erin sent me another wish for Diana. I love the clovers and ladybugs!

The wish says:
May God give you...
For every storm, a rainbow
For every tear, a smile
For every care, a promise
And a blessing in each trial.
For every problem life sends,
A faithful friend to share
For every sigh, a sweet song,
And an answer for each prayer
~An Irish Blessing

Welcome home little Diana! We love you!

We love you guys too. Can't wait for you to have Hanna in your arms!

From Auntie Debbie and Cousin Alex

We love when we get wishes from family! These are from my sister Debbie and her daughter Alex. Alex did a good job of writing her wish and then I embellished it with the stickers and fabric. Debbie's wish was from her heart and just brought tears to my eyes. I can't wait for Diana to meet her aunt and cousin. They already love her so much! Every time I see Alex she wants to know when we are going to China to get Diana. I only wish I had a better answer than"I'm not sure Sweetie." We love you both very much!
